Isola Prater, 76, of Homer died on Monday, September 10, 2018 at Glen Arbor Hospice Residence following a short illness.
Isola was born on July 23, 1942, in Martin, Kentucky Joe and Mary Jane (Reffiett) Shepherd. In October 1958, she married Dallas Prater he preceded her in 2000.
Isola was a home maker staying home to raise her family. She was a member of Riverside Bible Baptist Church in Homer. She loved playing bingo, spending time with her children, grandchildren and her dog Buddy.
She is survived by her children, Lonnie (Marty) Prater of Homer, Danny Prater of Stockbridge, Dallas Prater of Homer and Bob (Laura) Johnson of Battle Creek; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and six siblings. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Dallas; daughter Gail Prater; and four siblings.
Family will greet friends on Saturday September 15, 2018 from 10am- 12noon at the Homer Chapel of Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services 303 South Hillsdale Street with funeral services celebrating her life taking place at 12noon with Pastor Jimmy Collins officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Homer. Memorial contributions are requested to Riverside Bible Baptist Church in Homer. Assistance with memorials is available at the Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
