Hershel Brown, age 74, of Homer, MI went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, September 7, 2019 in the care of his loving family. He was born in Hazard, KY on March 10, 1945 the son of Charlie and Nannie (Dixon) Brown.
Hershel was a natural athlete, excelling at everything he did. Which consisted of hunting, fishing, golfing, bowling, horseshoes among other activities. He had a wonderful sense of humor and anyone who knew him loved him.
Hershel is survived by his children, Hershel (Tammie) Brown, Jr., Kelly Brown; 4 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren; siblings, Lillian Miller, Carol Brown, Linda Young, Mallie Shore, Marilyn Wooton, Cindy Terry, Larry Brown; and very special friend Mary Imhol. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Shirley Brown, Edsel Brown, Rita Cornett, John Brown, Billy Brown, Mable Weatherly, Bobbie Anderson and grandson Justin Brown.
Family will receive friends at the Kempf Funeral & Cremation Services, Homer on Thursday, September 12, 2019 from 11:00am to 1:00pm. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1:00pm. Memorial contributions may be directed to the funeral home for funeral expenses. Interment will be held in Kentucky at a later date.
