Douglas Kittinger

August 25, 1947 — July 16, 2019

Douglas Greg Kittinger , 71, of Marshall MI, passed away suddenly on July 16th in his home. He was born Aug 25, 1947 in Albion, MI to the late Lawrence and Marguerite (Golet) Kittinger. He was married to his beloved wife, Sue Kittinger (Shafer) for 47 years.

He is survived by his wife, Sue and his children, Gregg (Rocio) and Kristi (Matt) and his grandchildren, Katie, Tom, Diego and Emilio. Also surviving is his brother Brian (Marilyn), as well as many nieces and nephews. Doug was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Larry and Craig, and nephew, Jeff.

Doug served his country in the Army from 1966-1969, and he worked as an engineer at II Stanley in Battle Creek. He was always happy to lend a helping hand and could repair almost anything mechanical or electrical. He loved sailing and RC airplanes, and also loved summers spent at Duck Lake. He enjoyed time with his family, with his favorite holiday being Easter, as he enjoyed epic Easter egg hunts and flying kites in the backyard with his grandchildren.

Honoring his wishes, there was a private ceremony followed by a burial in Oakridge Cemetery in Marshall. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Jeff Kittinger Memorial Scholarship at the Marshall Community Foundation. https://www.marshallcf.org/FAQRetrieve.aspx?ID=60517
