Carol Ann MacQueen, 82, a long-time resident of Albion, died Sunday, May 5, 2019 at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Care in Jackson.
Carol was born on July 16, 1936 in Adrian to Edwin and Elsie (Davis) Deis, she was raised in Tipton, Michigan where she addended school and later graduated from Adrian High School.
Carol married Gerald MacQueen on October 5, 1958 in Adrian. This marriage ended in divorce in 2000. Carol was employed as a clerical worker at Bridgeport Brass Company in Adrian, Felpausch Foods, Fedco, and later MacQueen and Sons Landscaping in Albion.
During her lifetime, Carol enjoyed time gardening perennials and would always have a collection of favorite Clematis growing in her garden. Her attention and love for animals was fostered as a child on the family farm, and later developed a kindness for the Siamese breed of cats. She was often cooking and baking great deserts for her family and enjoyed canning and freezing vegetables.
She is survived by her four children, Debra (Robert) Haskins of Parma, Gerald L. MacQueen II, Cara (Ambrosia) Garza, and Dana MacQueen all of Albion; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a brother-in-law Jerry Emery of Adrian. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Joan Emery.
