Anita F. Shook 92, of Tekonsha formerly of Bellevue died on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at her home following a long illness.
Mrs. Shook was born on March 26, 1926 in Battle Creek to Alvin and Hazel (Peaslee) VanAlstine. She graduated from Battle Creek Schools. On June 21, 1945 she married Elmon F. Shook in Kalmo. He preceded her death on December 25, 1998.
Mrs. Shook worked for several years a the Kellogg Company in Battle Creek. She also worked for a short time at Weston's Biscuits, Baby Bliss in Nashville, Marlene's Bridal in Charlotte. Mrs. Shook also baby sat for many years in the Bellevue Area. She was a member of the Pleasant View Family Church in Lacey. Mrs. Shook enjoyed puzzles, watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. She also enjoyed sewing, crafting, and learning how to make new craft projects.
She is survived by her daughter Carol (Paul) Woods of Tekonsha and several grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son Fredrick Shook; a brother-in-law Larry Kilnourn; siblings Alvin VanAlstine, Iva Lee, Peggy Corkins, and Joyce Martens.
A private graveside service will take place at Assyria Township Cemetery. Arrangements by Bellevue Chapel of the Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
