Kenneth W. Desy, 71, of Albion died on Sunday December 15, 2019 at home surrounded by his family following a short illness.
Ken was born on September 20, 1948 in Albion to Russell and Josephine (Schultz) Desy. He graduated From Albion High School in 1966. He joined the United States Army in 1967 serving in Vietnam. While in Vietnam he was a “Tunnel Rat” and earned several medals. Ken was honorably discharged in 1970.
Ken retired from the city of Marshall after working several years at the power house. He also worked for many years driving truck for Haas Trucking . Ken enjoyed riding his Harley, and hunting with is gun and bow. He loved fishing on the back waters of the Manistee River.
He is survived by his companion for over 20 years Patricia Zasucha; children Keith (Juile) Desy, Kevin Desy, and like a daughter Jessica Yates; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; siblings, Jimmy Desy, Larry Desy, Frank Desy, Chuck Desy, and Nancy Wasielewski; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters Valerie Romack and Janice Kraus.
A private Family service took place at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions are requested to Battle Creek VA Hospital or Oaklawn Hospice.
