The Homer location became part of Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services in 2013. In 2024 we celebrate and welcome Kemp's Life Event Center of Homer. Our historic building was the first home built in Homer by its founder Milton Barney in 1837. Despite its age, the Kempf family restored it to excellent condition and improved on the existing footprint without erasing its history. To better serve families in our area, the facilities were remodeled to include an additional chapel and spacious reception center for burial and memorial gatherings. Located in the center of Homer, our Life Event Center is simple to find and only blocks away from several churches and downtown eateries like Cascarelli’s Pizza.
Our staff are undoubtedly the best in the area, elevating Homer beyond just a life event center to create a sanctuary of peace and healing. Regardless of the life event you are planning, our funeral directors and assistants can help you plan the perfect service to honor your loved one or celebrate another life event. And as true members of the community, our staff seek ways to give back outside of the event center including supporting Homer’s high school sports teams, participating in VFW events, serving with the Lions Club, and more. We love living and working in a tight-knit community and strive to contribute to Homer’s success at every chance we get.
Our liofe event center specializes in creating completely unique experiences for every family. We have been known to accommodate such requests as parking a vintage corvette in the lobby and even displaying motorcycles in three separate spaces. Our dedication to fulfilling families’ wishes is stronger than any other in the Homer area, and we always encourage creativity when arranging a service.
