Eileen E. Stout, 59, of Marshall died February 12, 2013, at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo.
Eileen was born on March 28, 1953, in Biloxi, Mississippi to William and Barbara (Bell) Stout. She graduated from Marshall High School and would go on and graduate from Saginaw Valley State University with a bachelors degree. On January 16, 1982, she married Tim J. Younkman. Their marriage ended in divorce in 1998.
Eileen was a writer for many years for several different newspapers. She started her writing as a news journalist and worked her way up to feature writer for the Bay City Paper. Eileen would also work for the Marshall Chronicle, and she would retire from the Battle Creek Enquirer as a Copyright Editor. She was a member of the humane society. Eileen loved animals, and when she lived in Garfield Township she started a rescue shelter which became Baybreeze Kennel. She enjoyed playing pool and social gatherings. Eileen was a spiritual person and enjoyed exploring her spirituality. She loved all the time she spent with her family especially time spent with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, William Younkman, Lee (Heather) Younkman all of Coldwater, Laicy (John) Madrid of Odessa, Texas, Catherine Younkman of Marshall, Sarah Younkman of Bay City, step-son Jonathon Younkman of Ann Arbor. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, siblings, Diana Stout of Kalamazoo, William (Louise) Stout II of Crest City, Florida, Monica Stout of Marshall, and her mother Barbara Stout of Marshall. She was preceded in death by her father William Stout.
Visitation will take place at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home on Friday February 15, 2013, from 12noon to 1pm with a funeral service celebrating her life taking place at 1pm. Inurnment will follow at Oakridge Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her father and with her beloved dog Rachel. Memorial contributions are being requested to the family.
