Esther L. Greenman, age 85, of Charlotte, formerly of Marshall, died February 8, 2012 at Eaton Community Pallative Care in Charlotte in the loving care of her son Lyle and his wife Shannon.
Esther was born at home in Fredonia Township on June 1, 1927 to Lillian and Arthur Kenyon. She was a graduate of Marshall High School.
She was married to George F. Greenman Jr. on Feb. 18, 1947 at West Eckford Missionary Church in Eckford Township. The couple resided on their farm for many years there. George preceded her in death on June 11, 1987.
Esther was a homemaker and worked as a waitress at Bill Knapp's in Battle Creek from the mid-1960's until 1986 when she stayed home to care for George, whose health was failing. After his death she lived with her son Lyle for a time, and later in Battle Creek until returning to Charlotte when her own health started to fail.
She was a past member of the Fredonia Grange. Esther enjoyed knitting, crocheting and doing puzzles.
She is survived by her sons and daughter in law, Allen R. Greenman of Luther and Lyle R. and Shannon Greenman of Charlotte, her 5 grandchildren Rodney, Kelly, Trevor, Allison and Quincie, her great-grandchildren Kalvin, Garret, Sabrina and Ashley, and sisters Eva, Eleanor, Eloise and Ethel.
