Victor Nava, 65, of Marshall died on Thursday, January 19, 2012, at the Sparrow Hospice Home in Lansing.Victor was born on April 26, 1945, in Marshall to Frank and Maymie (Luna) Nava. He attended Marshall Schools. Victor enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1963 and he was honorably discharged in 1965.Victor worked for Corning Glass in Albion for many years. After the plant closed, he worked at the Shell Stop in Marshall and later to the P.S. Food Mart on Michigan Avenue. In 2008, Victor retired and moved to Texas to visit family first time he left Michigan in many years. Victor enjoyed working and would often be a bartender at many local taverns in the area. He was an avid singer performing karaoke when ever he had the chance. Victor had a love for baseball and would rarely miss a game, he also enjoyed the time he spent with his family and loved visiting with all of them every chance he could.He is survived by his children Lisa Nava of Battle Creek, Robert Nava of Illinois, Richard Nava of California, and four grandchildren. He is also survived by four sisters; Maria Nava of San Antonio, TX, Margarita Nava of Marshall , Herminia Arriaga of San Antonio, TX, Erlinda Sanchez of Battle Creek, brother; Richard (Fairly) Nava of Battle Creek, numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Francisco Robert Nava, sister Virginia Adams, and a brother Rudy Luna.Visitation will take place at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home on Thursday from 9am-11am with family present at that time. A graveside service will take place at 12noon on Thursday, January 26, 2012, at Fort Custer National Cemetery with Reverend Father Stephen Naas officiating. Memorial contributions are requested to the family. Assistance with memorials is available at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
