Trennie Shepherd, 86, of Marshall died on Monday, February 22, 2010, at Marshall Nursing and Rehabilitation Community surrounded by her family.Mrs. Shepherd was born on January 20, 1924, in Emma, Kentucky to Johnnie and Minnie (Davis) Hall. On July 6, 1940, she married Elzie Shepherd in Water Gap, Kentucky. He preceded her in death on May 11, 1991.Mrs. Shepherd was a home maker and stayed home to raise her family. She was a member of the Southern United Baptist Church in Albion. Mrs. Shepherd loved the Lord Jesus. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening, garage sales and refinishing antiques. She love going to family gatherings especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.She is survived by her three daughters, Betty Lou (Albert) Sparks of Homer, Brenda (Dale) Schiesser of Marshall, Katherine Lynn Holtz of Lafayette, Indiana, son, James L. (Christine) Shepherd, daughter-in-law Marge Shepherd, son-in-law Alan (Nancy) Vandenburg all of Marshall, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Elva Hall of Marshall, Kelly Hall of Mountain Home, Arkansas, five sisters, Fannie Mae Chouch, of Lakeland, Florida, Pearlie Tackett of Marshall, Thelma Carpenter of Ashtabula, Ohio, Evelyn Doris Brewer of Ohio, Lavada Browning of Eaton Rapids, Michigan, numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons Elzie Shepherd Jr., Johnnie Shepherd, daughter Carol Vandenburg and four brothers Luther, Joe, Russell, Aaron Hall.Visitation will take place at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home on Friday from 2-8pm with family present from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Funeral services celebrating her life will take place at 11am on Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Dennis Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Association. Assistance with memorials is available at the Kempf Funeral Home.
