Stephen E. Bosserd, age 47, of Lafayette, IN and formerly of the Marshall/Albion areas died Saturday, May 23, 2015 at his home.Mr. Bosserd was born on September 21, 1967 in Battle Creek to Samuel G. and Sue E. (Krohn) Bosserd. Stephen was a graduate of Albion High School. While living in this area he had been employed as a builder with the Dave Cook and Sons Construction Company. During the Iraq war, Stephen served in the United States Army..On March 20, 1999, he married the former Bonnie June Burpee in Marshall.Stephen owned and operated Top Tunes D.J. Entertainment. He loved music and was a very popular D.J. being requested to providing music for many wedding and other social celebrations. Stephen had been very involved in Boy Scouting throughout his life. He achieved the rank of Eagle and then served as the Leader for the Boy Scout Troop at Mar Lee School. He was a member of the American Legion and the V.F.W.Stephen enjoyed collecting old unique beer cans and car license plates. One of his many hobbies was photography and he enjoyed traveling to visit Lighthouses. He is remembered by his family as having a wonderful sense of humor and that he was "The Heart of our Family".He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; children, Kimberly (Craig) Brattain of Lafayette and Josh (Regina) Tuttle of Lafayette; 4 grandchildren, Summer, Kory, Mathias and Zachary; his mother, Sue E. Bosserd-Anderson of Albion; brother, Mark (Teresa) Bosserd and Jeff (Terri) Bosserd; nephews, Adam, Matt and Andy; a niece, Anna; and a uncle, Tom Bosserd. He is also survived by his faithful companion, Rascal, his Golden Lab dog.The family will receive friends on Friday from 5 PM to 7 PM at the Craig K. Kempf Family Funeral Homes, Marshall Chapel. A funeral service to celebrate the gift of his life will be held 1 PM Saturday, May 30, 2015 at the funeral home with Pastor Jeff Burpee officiating. Interment will follow in Marengo Village Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the United States Honor Guard and the American Legion Riders. A gathering for family and friends will follow the committal service at the Kempf Reception Hall at the funeral home.Friends who wish may make memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association.
