Margaret C. Bergerson, age 95, of Tekonsha died on Monday May 16, 2016.She was born in Mill Creek, Indiana, the daughter of Bert and Silva (Bunton) Hamilton. She married Arthur L. Bergerson on January 12, 1940 in South Bend, Indiana and he preceded her in death in 1997. She was a graduate of Mill Creek High School, class of 1938. Margaret had been employed by Ball Band in Mishawaka, Indiana for 5 years before moving to Tekonsha in 1957. She was employed by the A&P grocery store in downtown Coldwater for 16 years. Customers would wait in her line extra time just to visit with her while she checked them out. She also worked part-time for many years at the Schuman Wholesale Sporting Goods & Tackle company in Coldwater.She enjoyed thirty plus winters in McAllen, Texas at the Texan Mobile Park. While in Texas, she grew flowers, line danced, participated in skits, made many new friends, and walked three miles a day. She was a member of the Tekonsha Thimble Workers Club. When she wasn't working in her vegetable and flower garden, she was helping her husband on the farm. She also enjoyed watching her favorite birds (bluebirds, cardinals, and wrens). She loved to cook and bake. She spent a lot of time communicating with her friends by letter and telephone calls. She loved spending time with her family. She also was a PRAYER WARRIOR.She is survived by her son, Elwyn (Valerie) Bergerson; 6 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren; and a sister, Lucille Salzer of Mill Creek, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her son, Dennis Bergerson; and a grandson, Jeffrey Bergerson; a sister and four brothers.Relatives and friends will be received from 6-8 PM on Thursday May 19, 2016 at the Kempf Family Funeral Homes Marshall Chapel 723 Old US 27 N. Marshall, MI. A graveside service celebrating the life of Margaret will take place at 2:00 PM on Friday May 20, 2016 at Riverside Cemetery in Tekonsha.
