Kenneth J. Kipp, age 46, of Marshall died Friday, October 15, 2010 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.
He was born on April 30, 1964 in Marshall to Robert and Ursula (Gallagher) Kipp. He was a life long resident of the Marshall area and was a graduate of Marshall High School, class of 1982. Ken had been employed by Michigan Kitchen Distributors for 21 years, in the countertop department. Other employment included working at Gus's East Gas Station and Party Store and for the City of Marshall in the Parks Department and Dial a Ride.
Ken was a motorcycle enthusiast. He had owned and ridden bikes the majority of his life. Another passion that Ken had was for skating. He enjoyed roller blading as well as ice skating. Ken also enjoyed music, especially Blues music and he played the harmonica. In his youth, he was an avid hunter and ice fisherman and had played football in high school. His nieces and nephews played an important part in Ken's life. He loved each of them very much.
He is survived by sisters, Marjorie Kipp (Mike Schmitzer) of Marshall, Carolyn (John) Carver of Marshall, Bonnie (Craig) Stiner of Marshall and Melissa Kipp (Bob Delaney) of Marshall; brothers, Thomas M. Kipp of Battle Creek, Richard J. (Kristy) Kipp of Marshall and Russell R. (Beni) Kipp of Indianapolis, IN; step-mother, Donna Kipp of Marshall; step-brothers and sister; nieces, Elizabeth Kipp, Samantha (Brian) VanDorsten, Sarah Stiner and Natalie Stiner; nephews, Keith Carver, Cade Carver, Eli Kipp and Ben Kipp. He is also survived by uncles, Charles Gallagher and John (Rose) Gallagher; aunt, Eleanore (Bruce) Bidelman; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ursula Kipp and two special companions his dogs, Oreo and Luscious.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5 PM to 8 PM at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home and Cremation Services. A funeral service to celebrate the gift of his life will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at the funeral home.
