Kathy Shepherd, 54, of Marshall died on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at home.Kathy was born on May 27, 1960 in Detroit at Henry Ford Hospital to Johnny and Jessie (Young) Shepherd. She graduated from Marshall High School in 1979.Kathy was a homemaker staying home to raise her children. She enjoyed her time being a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts, and sewing homemade Halloween costumes for her children. Once her children grew older, Kathy went to work at Team One in Albion and Hayes Limier in Homer for several years. Kathy enjoyed crocheting, reading novels, and watching WWE Wrestling with her father Johnny. In years past she would spend a great deal of time teaching her nieces and nephews how to crochet and play board games. They also really enjoyed watching Western movies together. Kathy served on the PTA at Marlee School, was a Girl Scout leader and also helped her children with their 4H projects. She adored spending time with her family, especially with her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. They all loved Kathy very much and she will be greatly missed by all of them.Kathy is survived by her children, Amanda Wilson of Marshall and Timothy Wilson of North Dakota; two grandchildren, A.J. and Madilyn Stone of Marshall; life partner, Russel "David" Wilson; sister Vicki Jones of Battle Creek; brothers, Lloyd (Jaymee) Shepherd of Middleville, Clay (Lahoma) Shepherd of North Dakota, Marcus Shepherd of Marshall, and Daniel Shepherd of Battle Creek; sister-in-law, Fulisa Shepherd of Battle Creek; Aunts, Lora, Jordan and Emma Moreno; Uncles, Bill, Holbert, Earl and Jack Shepherd; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents; and nephew, Jacob Shepherd.Visitation will take place at the Craig Kempf Funeral Homes, Marshall Chapel 723 US 27 North on Monday, February 9, 2015 from 11am-1pm with a funeral service taking place at 1pm with Reverand James Codde officiating. Interment will follow at Oakridge Cemetery. Memorial contributions are requested to the family.
