Judson Reincke

Judson H. "Jud" Reincke, 84, died February 23, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family.Jud was born October 15, 1926, in Tekonsha Township to Hermond and Joyce (Hoyt) Reincke. He graduated from Marshall High School in 1944. Jud served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He served on a LST-894in the Pacific. On May 27, 1950, he married Margaret F. Jones at the Lyon Lake Methodist Church Parsonage. She survives.Jud started working for Engineer Casting in Marshall in 1949, and then later he would retire from the Eaton Company as a maintenance supervisor in 1987. Jud also farmed in the area for most of his life. He also was a charter member of the Fredonia Township Fire Department, and he would serve as assistant chief for many years and later become fire chief. Jud retired as fire chief in 1987 after serving his community for 22 years.Jud was a member of the U.S. LST Association, Michigan LST Association, Fredonia Grange, Marshall Moose Lodge #676. He also was a life member of the Western Michigan Fire Chief's Association, Wolverine State Coon Hunters Association, Treeing Walker Hound Breeders Association, the American Foundry Society, and he was a loyal supporter of the Calhoun County 4-H livestock auction. Jud enjoyed the outdoors, hunting deer, coons and rabbits. He also enjoyed spending time in his woods practicing wood lot management. Jud enjoyed spending time at his cabin the "Gunny Sack" up north. He also enjoyed sitting in his barn with friends and neighbors talking about farming and hunting. Jud enjoyed spending time with his family especially with his grandchildren.He is survived by his wife of 60 years Margaret of Marshall, three sons, Mike (Rita) Reincke of Ceresco, Mark Reincke, Norm (Julie) Reincke all of Marshall, grandchildren Laurie, Matt, Trace, Linc Reincke, and a great-granddaughter Saleen Pierce. He is also survived by his sister Josephine Clark of Montpelier, Ohio, brother Larry Reincke, uncle Daryl Hoyt, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Leland "Pat" Reincke.Visitation will take place at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home on Friday February 25, 2011, from 2-8pm with family present to greet friends from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Funeral services celebrating his life will take place at 11am on Saturday, February 26, 2011, at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home with Reverend Tom Fox and Reverend Betty Malone officiating. Interment will follow at Lyon Lake Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fredonia Township Fire Department Association or to the VFW children's home in Eaton Rapids.
