John P Torres

John P. Torres, 62 of Pennfield went home to be with the Lord suddenly February 9, 2017 at his home following a long illness.John was born on September 20, 1954 in Battle Creek to Philip and Ardell (Pierce) Torres. He graduated from Pennfield High School. His father taught him how to weld at a young age and he furthered his education in welding at the Calhoun County Vocational Center.John was a Pipefitter and extraordinary welder working for the Plumber & Pipefitter Union Local 333 for many years retiring in 2016. He enjoyed playing baseball and was a pitcher in his school days. John had a passion for guns, hunting, fishing and studying the bible.He is survived by his son Jason Wood; four grandchildren; mother Ardell Torres; and his sister JoAnn Torres all of Battle Creek. He was preceded in death by his father Philip in 2007.Upon the family's request, there will be no public service.
