Jacquelene "Jackie" Meade, 86, of Marshall died on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Vista Grand Villa in Marshall following a long illness.Jackie was born on June 19, 1930 in Woodland to Paul and Florence (Jordan) Brodbeck. She graduated from Woodland High School in 1948. On March 11, 1950 she married Glenn F. Meade in Woodland. He preceded her in death on October 21, 1990.Jackie started working as a teacher's aide in Marshall and later would be a library clerk at the Marshall High School. She retired in 1990. Jackie was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. On Education Day in 1990 she received the Minuteman Award during Michigan Week. Jackie enjoyed walking, volunteering at church, and spending time with friends and family especially spending time with her grandchildren.She is survived by her children; Roger (Linda) Meade of Dixon, New Mexico, Wendell (Lynn) Meade of Paw Paw, Paul (Kim) Meade of Lake Odessa, John (Mary Ann) Meade of Plymouth, David (Laura) Meade of Arlington, Texas, and Ann Seiler of Indianapolis; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Paul Brodbeck of Woodland, Larry Brodbeck of Lake Odessa, Carolyn Brechiesh of Woodland; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and siblings, Carroll Brodbeck, David Brodbeck, Richard Brodbeck, Russell Brodbeck, Bill Brodbeck, Patricia Ellecy, Mary Ullery, and Helen Miskie.Visitation will take place at the Kempf Family Funeral Homes, Marshall Chapel 723 US 27 North on Thursday January 5, 2017 from 2-8pm with family present to greet friends from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Funeral services will take place at 11am on Friday, January 6, 2017 at Zion Lutheran Church 135 West Green Street, Marshall with Reverend Anthony Volattorni officiating. Family will gather with friends following the services in Zion Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall. A private family interment will take place Fuller Cemetery in Barry County at a later date. Memorial contributions are requested to Zion Lutheran Church or to Calhoun County Relay for Life. Assistance with memorials is available at the Kempf Funeral Home.
