Don Bryan

Don E. Bryan age 80 of Coldwater passed away on Monday April 3, 2017 peacefully at his home. He was born on May 18, 1936 a son of Robert and Lucille (Rodgers) Bryan in Angola, IN. Don proudly served in the U.S. Navy (Seabees). On August 31, 1957 he married Ruthann Densel in Florence, AL. He worked as a Mason/ Plasterer for the State of Michigan and KRPH in Kalamazoo. Along with his father and brother he built Southern Bank and Trust in Coldwater and many other buildings in the area. Don enjoyed woodcarving, writing, playing cards, storytelling, bowling, fishing and being a Boy Scout leader. Don belonged to Union City Alcoholics Anonymous and recently achieved 45 years of Sobriety.Surviving Don are his wife Ruthann Bryan of Coldwater, sons, Don "Ike" Bryan of Union City, Timothy (Kari) Bryan of Pleasant Prairie , WI, Arthur Bryan of Coldwater, Jon (Lucy) Bryan Grapevine, TX, daughter, Dollie (Bruce) Herr of Fulton, MD, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and family. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Robert, John Bennett (Ben), Richard Bryan, sisters, Ruth Mitchel and Patricia Bryan.A memorial graveside service will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday April 29, 2017 with Military honors at West Girard Cemetery in Girard Township. A celebration of Don's life will take place on Saturday April 29, 2017 at 1:00PM at the Quality Inn 1000 Orleans Ave. Coldwater, MI 49036 with Pastor Arthur Bryan officiating.
