Adahbelle Vereeke, age 90, of Marshall, MI passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Muskegon, MI on December 3, 1926 the daughter of Fred and Margaret (Thomas) Stewart. Adahbelle was a high school graduate of Decatur High School. She married Franklin Vereeke on November 15, 1945 and together had 3 children. Adahbelle loved gardening, mainly it was to give her produce away. She was very giving, always putting everyone else first. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant for years for several years, working until the age of 88. Several people she would take care of were older than her. Adahbelle knew no stranger. It was rare to go anywhere without her knowing someone. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church for several years.Left to cherish her memory is her loving children, Reginald (Linda) Vereeke of Winter Haven, FL, Roger (Patricia) Vereeke of Gaylord, MI, Kim (Dan) Richard of Traverse City, MI; grandchildren, Katrina (Dave) Allemang, Melissa (Dave) Randolph, Eric Scott, Donnie Grice, Jason Grice, Sheila Wetstone; several great-grandchildren; and sister, Doris Abiney. She was preceded in death by her husband Franklin Vereeke (2003), her parents, 3 brothers and 1 sister.In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 11:00am at Grace Baptist Church in Marshall, MI with Pastor Brandon Crawford officiating. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Grace Baptist Church of Marshall. A private interment of ashes will take place at a later date.
