Scott Allen Hartung

Scott A. Hartung, age 52, of Bellevue, MI passed away suddenly at home on Friday, March 23, 2018. Scott was born on April 24, 1965 in Muskegon, MI to the late Donald and Nora Dorothy Hartung. Scott was the youngest of six children and spent his early years in Grand Haven until moving to Marshall in the sixth grade. Scott graduated from Marshall High School in 1984, then went on to study at Kellogg Community College transferring to Lansing Community College where he obtained an Associate of Arts degree with a focus in Photography.

Scott worked for Sparrow Hospital for many years while he lived in Lansing and after returning to the Marshall area, he worked for State Farm Insurance for over fifteen years. He was most recently employed by Perfection Services and worked for them at Marshall's Tenneco. Scott enjoyed photography and being outside. Some of his favorite times where a combination of the two; camping, hiking and taking pictures, which he did all over Michigan, especially enjoying the waterfalls of the Upper Peninsula. With his mom, he shared a love of things that grow and study to become a Master Gardener and was very interested in species native to Michigan.

Scott is survived by his children, daughters Eden and Lila; son Alden all of Marshall Township; mother, Nora Dorothy Hartung of Ann Arbor; his siblings, sister, Michel Hamilton; brother, Daniel Hartung both of Anchorage, AK; sister, Diane Spence of Chelsea; sister, Julie Hutton of Ann Arbor; and brother, Donald Hartung of Plaquemine, LA, several nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald E. Hartung in 2008. In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family for future designation. Family will receive friends on Thursday, March 29, 2018 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm and celebrate Scott's life at Schuler's Restaurant & Pub, 115 S Eagle Street, Marshall, MI 49068.
