Michael Richard Servis, age 62, of Battle Creek, MI passed away at Borgess Hospital, Kalamazoo, MI on Monday, July 2, 2018, after a long battle with diabetes and heart disease.
What Michael loved most in life was feeling the rumble of his Harley beneath him with the wind blowing through his beard as he rode around our beautiful state. After his love of his family came his love for his "children," the kitties, which are missing him very much. Michael's heart was big enough for any stray cat that found its way to his back door.
Michael graduated from Pennfield High School in 1973 and also from Argubright College. He advanced his education with additional classes over the years to help him continue with his favorite hobby - working with computers. Michael worked for the Federal Government at the then Battle Creek Federal and later in his career he worked for the US Army Corps of Engineers in Savannah, GA. But if Mike were to tell you what his favorite job was, he would say it was when he lived and worked on Tybee Island, GA at a job renting bikes on the beach. He said it might be really hot on the beach but he loved the people and the vacation like atmosphere and he would never get tired of looking at the dolphins.
Michael's parents, William Richard and Marjorie Mae (Stevens) Servis were waiting at Heaven's Gate for his arrival. Those of us left behind to miss him are his wife, Christine Marie (Loew) Servis; sister, Judy Mae (Scott) Doolety; three step grandsons, Brennon, Barrett, and Bryce Wood; niece, Jennifer (Lawton) Boroughf; nephew, Joshua (Natalie) Servis; two great nieces, Isla and Tinley Boroughf; one great nephew, Lawton Servis; and brother, Brian Keith Servis.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life for Michael at the Polish National Alliance (PNA), 15 Clair St., Battle Creek, MI on Saturday, July 14, 2018, from 2:00pm to 5:00pm. We hope that his many friends and family will be able to come and share their happy memories of him and his life with everyone. He lived his life his way and he didn't want to be remembered with tears...
Contributions in Michael's honor may be directed to the American Heart Association, the American Diabetes Association, or your local animal shelter.
