Eleanor Ann Lowder, age 89, of Homer and Marshall, passed away January 14, 2018 after a lengthy illness. She was born December 11, 1928, in Marshall the daughter of Leslie and Margaret (Cook) Dibble. She graduated from Homer High School. Eleanor worked for the Bank of Albion, Albion College, and Folk Oil Company. She moved to Mesa, Arizona to be with family and worked for the University of Phoenix until she retired and moved back to Michigan. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, and taking long car rides in the county.
She married Robert Lowder in 1947 which ended in divorce. Eleanor is survived by a daughter, Sandy (Phillip) Robison; sons, Jerry Lowder, Terry (Roxanne) Lowder, and Steve (Kathy) Lowder. She also left behind 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Patricia Avery and Mary Crandall, and brothers Kenneth Dibble and Charles Dibble.
Family and friends are encouraged to gather and remember Eleanor at the Kempf Funeral & Cremation Services, Homer on Thursday, January 18, 2018 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Memorial contributions may be directed to Dementia Society of America or Great Lakes Hospice.
